MAC x Mariah Carey Collection 2016

The extremely hyped MAC x Mariah collection was released earlier this month (December 2016), and was previewed by hundreds of influencers. I decided to pick up the skinfinish ('My Mimi': described as a 'warm gold shimmer', $51 AUD) and a frost lipstick ('All I want': described as a 'champagne shimmer' $40 AUD).

Skinfinish - 'My Mimi'

I found that the skinfinish was far to dark for my skintone, so I use it as a blush/bronzer topper and occasionally as an eyeshadow. It is extremely pigmented for a skinfinish - the swatch shown is with 2 swipes.

Quality: 9/10 - pigmentation is amazing Affordability: 6/10 - given that it is limited edition and contains 10g, $51 isn't too steep for MAC.

Packaging: 8/10 - it's gorgeous, what else would we expect from Mariah?

Lipstick - 'All I want'

The lipstick is not one of my favourite formulas (frost), and is somewhat unflattering on its own. It's quite a light shade of champagne, and given that I have extemely fair skin and it makes me look sickly, I'm not sure how this would look on anybody with a dark skintone. However when worn on top of a liner, or as a topper with another lipstick, it looks beautiful on the lips.

Quality: 7/10 - beautiful formula but wipes away extremely easily (due to frost finish)

Affordability: 5/10 - not worth $40 in my opinion

Packing: 9/10 - who could resist that glitter?
